The venue has moved around over the years. Shows lived at the Natural History Museum through the nineties, then Somerset House until 2015, then the Brewer Street Car Park in Soho, before landing at 180 The Strand. It is a strange building to love and most of the industry does, mostly because you can walk out of a show and be in Covent Garden in six minutes.
Do not assume everything happens on the Strand, though. Dover Street Market hosts the jewellery programme in Mayfair. The Truman Brewery has a residency on Brick Lane. 1. McQueen
Seán McGirr has been designing for the house since 2023 but has shown in Paris. Bringing McQueen back to London, and showing both men’s and women’s Spring/Summer 2027 in one slot, is the single biggest booking of the week. It closes Sunday night at 20:00, which is the sort of slot you only get when the schedule is built around you.
2. Mulberry
Christopher Kane taking creative control of Mulberry was the news of the spring. This is his first collection for the house, at 15:00 on Sunday 20 September. Mulberry is also livestreaming it in its Regent Street and Edinburgh stores, so you can watch a debut collection without an invitation.
3. Marks & Spencer
M&S turns 100 in the fashion business this year and is marking it with its first exclusive runway collection, womenswear and menswear, on a see now buy now basis. That last part matters. You watch it at midday on Friday and you can buy it, rather than waiting six months. High street brands rarely get a slot on the official schedule at all.
4. Burberry
Burberry closing on Monday evening is the fixed point everyone plans around. It is the last big show, it usually runs somewhere unexpected, and the Monday 19:00 slot means the week ends on the brand with the most international press in the room.
5. H&M With Nick Knight
H&M is working with photographer Nick Knight and SHOWstudio on what the BFC has described as a reconceptualisation of the fashion show. One caveat. The London Fashion Week schedule stays provisional right up to the week itself. Times shift, venues get confirmed late, and the occasional show disappears. The official BFC schedule is the version to check the morning you go.
